Nevertheless, if this is the case, millions of women nationwide that do not have the gene, would no longer be prone to battling the horrifying disease. Below are tips you can follow that might just help you fend off breast cancer.

  1. The first thing you need to look at is your lifestyle. Of course unhealthy habits such as smoking, extreme alcohol consumption and lack of sleep can all lead to breast cancer. Therefore, it is important to begin a new chapter of your life. It is essential to start having a healthy outlook, or else breast cancer and other diseases will slowly creep up on you.
  2. A positive mindset works wonders, no matter what you are trying to prevent. It has been shown that a positive attitude can be linked with reducing breast cancer. Many doctors feel that when you are happy and positive, your immune system actually progresses. For this reason, you should laugh and have a good time as much as possible. By dealing with stress in a healthy manner, and looking at the positive things in life, you may benefit more than you think. It is a beautiful thing to think that a happy attitude will end up helping your immune system. As a result, your body will be able to protect yourself from hazardous diseases like breast cancer.
  3. Having a balanced diet is also crucial to your health, even if you aren’t trying to prevent breast cancer. Nevertheless, it is a great way to protect yourself and also boost your immune system. For instance, studies are now showing that chemicals in our food actually may end up causing cancer. Therefore, eating healthy and natural foods will help your body in many ways. It will keep your cholesterol down, and also help you fight off the harmful chemicals found in altered food.
  4. Exercise is also extremely necessary in any lifestyle. By working out at least three times a week, and getting your heart rate up, chances are you will be preventing breast cancer. It has been said that anyone who keeps their body in good shape, will have less chance of cancer. Although there is no guarantee that you will be completely safe, you should be taking any precautions you can.
  5. Always check your body. While self examinations of your breasts are necessary, you should still visit your doctor for mammogram exams. Many women do not realize they have a bump, nor do they feel any symptoms. For this reason, it is important to stay informed and get checked. After all, it doesn't hurt to stay safe and protected. Your Doctor also may give you extra precautionary tips. If you do feel like something is wrong, common symptoms include breast tenderness or pain, bumps, and discoloration.
